Training is divided in to two catagories. There is Career Fire Training and Annual Update Training, and Volunteer Training Programs. Since career firefighters are obligated under New York State Regulation of the 229 Basic Firefighter Training Program to maintain 100 hours of training per year, career firefighters have scheduled training per shift. Volunteer training is done on the second, third and forth Mondays of each month at 6:30 PM. Due to conflicts and busy life styles, volunteer and career firefighters often train together.
